- An inconel retort allows the use of a gas atmosphere in a chamber furnace
- Clamp front retorts (type A105) are available to suit models CWF12, 13 & 23 litre sizes and GPC12, 36, 65, 131 & 200 litre sizes
- A retort similar to a pack carburising box, (type A107) using a sand seal between the deep base and the shallow removeable lid, suits models CWF12, 13 & 23 litre sizes and GPC12, 36 & 65 litre sizes
- A gland can allow access for a probe thermocouple inside the retort

- Gas flowmeters can be fitted to suit a chamber furnace fitted with a retort, or a tube furnace with a worktube and a gas inlet
- To allow the control of the following gases
- Argon
- Carbon Dioxide
- Hydrogen
- Nitrogen
- Oxygen
- A solenoid valve can be used to control gas flow
- A gas safety system is required when using hydrogen, which ensures fail safe burn off of waste gas, shown in picture above

Cascade control |
- A standard control system senses the temperature close to the heating elements, while the temperature of the load is usually slightly lower
- To correct this a second controller can be added, one senses the load, the other the elements
- The load controller sends signals to the element controller, which adjusts the element temperature accordingly
- Faster warm up is achieved by boosting the element temperature when the load is cold, and by reducing it as the load approaches the desired temperature
- Normally a 2216 secondary controller is fitted in addition to a main 2416 or 2408.

Thermocouple calibration port |
| |
- An additional ceramic sheath adjacent to the control thermocouple and accessed through the back of the furnace
- Allows the insertion of users' own reference thermcouple for checking or calibration

Access/ viewing port |
| |
- A 25mm diameter port can be made in the furnace door
- Unglazed with stainless steel pivoted cover
- or glazed with fixed quartz glass window
